Uniting Parents is a parent case management program dedicated to supporting families of children with chronic illnesses and disabilities throughout the Texas Panhandle. Serving families with children from birth through age 21, the program provides guidance, resources, and support to help parents navigate the challenges that often come with managing their child's healthcare, education, and community needs.
The Uniting Parents team includes a Program Director, Administrative Assistant, and Parent Case Managers who are parents of children with disabilities themselves. Their personal experiences, combined with specialized training, allow them to understand the unique challenges families face and provide meaningful, compassionate support. Through a parent-to-parent approach, families receive practical guidance from individuals who have walked a similar path.
The program is designed to empower families and improve the quality of life for children by offering information, education, training, referrals, networking opportunities, and ongoing support. Uniting Parents works to connect families with valuable community resources and services that can help children reach their fullest potential.
These services are funded through the Children with Special Health Care Needs Program of the Texas Department of State Health Services and are provided as part of the Coalition of Health Services, Inc. Families seeking assistance can contact Maria Garcia, Program Director, or reach out to a local office for additional information and support.
