Hello, my name is Lisa Baker and I am a Parent Case Manager with Uniting Parents. I am a mother of an amazing teenage artist named Cole. My father had Alzheimer’s and he passed away 7 months after the diagnosis of cancer. It was at this time that I learned that children suffer from grief in a much different fashion. I learned as adults I talked and cried and my child acted out and screamed. I learned quickly what kind of network I needed to assist my son. He and I stumbled along at times but we learned to work together with our learning differences. He has now grown into a successful young man with a fine supportive family which is very important to us both. His father and I are very proud of him.
