The Panhandle Gives – Supporting Health and Hope Across the Texas Panhandle

The Coalition of Health Services (COHS) joins forces with communities, families, and generous donors during The Panhandle Gives campaign—a region-wide effort that uplifts the nonprofits making a difference across the Texas Panhandle. This powerful movement allows supporters to give back, invest locally, and help ensure vital programs continue reaching the people who need them most.

What Is The Panhandle Gives?

The Panhandle Gives is an annual 9-day giving campaign coordinated by the Amarillo Area Foundation. It concludes on Giving Tuesday, the global day of generosity celebrated the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

When you give to COHS during this campaign, your donation is amplified through the Amplification Fund. That means your impact goes further, helping us serve more families, children, and communities across the 32 counties of the Texas Panhandle.

When you donate to COHS through The Panhandle Gives, you’re supporting the following programs:

• Primary Health Care & Family Planning: Access to prevention-based care, education, and reproductive health services.
  
  
• Uniting Parents: Case management and peer support for families of children with disabilities or chronic illnesses.
  
  
• Families Respite Program: Relief services for caregivers of children with special needs.
  
  
• Gateway to Health: Navigation and connection to healthcare and community support resources.
  
  
• Texas Home Visiting: In-home support for new and expectant families, promoting early childhood development.
  
  
• Title V Maternal & Child Health Services: Medical care for women and children not eligible for Medicaid.
  
  
• 2Care for Kids / TexCare: Outreach and enrollment assistance for CHIP and Medicaid.
  
  
• Baby’s Coming Shop: Education-based support and resources for new mothers and families.
  
  

Together, these programs serve over 200,000 people, including children, veterans, mothers, and rural families.

How Your Gift Makes an Impact

Every dollar given through The Panhandle Gives campaign helps us reach more families and communities:

• $25 helps supply educational materials for parent training.
  
  
• $50 provides a family with resources and referrals for their child’s developmental needs.
  
  
• $100 covers a community outreach session in a rural county.
  
  
• $250 supports case management for a family navigating a new diagnosis.
  
  
• $500 funds a week of respite care for a family of a child with disabilities.
  
  

Because of the Amplification Fund, these gifts can be matched or increased—turning your $50 into $65 or more, depending on the campaign year and funds available.
