Families Respite Program: A Lifeline for Families
Raising a child with a disability or chronic illness can be challenging. In the Texas Panhandle, families have a valuable resource in the Families Respite Program, a program of the Coalition of Health Services, Inc. Based in Amarillo, Families Respite Program offers free support to families of children aged 0–21 who have chronic illnesses or disabilities. The program serves 32 counties in the region, providing assistance to families in need.

What sets Families Respite Program apart is its team of Parent Case Managers, individuals who have firsthand experience raising children with disabilities. These trained professionals understand the unique challenges families face and are dedicated to offering compassionate support. They provide information, education, training, referrals, networking opportunities, and emotional support to empower families and enhance their children's quality of life.
